I think Otrovi tries to form itself the same way a child tries to draw a figure. It sees the parts - this is a knee, that is an elbow, there is a face - but something’s always a little off. This is probably another reason it seeks out hosts to inhabit.

So I had an idea. What if [mister-cute-little-imp-boy] didn’t start out that way? What if there existed a malevolent, parasitic demon comprised of little more than tar and bile and hellfire that preyed on humans to keep its rotting soul alive? What if, when it chose its target and waited for a moment to strike, it came bubbling out of the dark into physical space? Jittering, heaving, dragging itself along, pin-drop silent, to the sleeping victim… What if it caught their face in long, bony fingers, pried open their mouth, forced its foul self inside? What if the person started changing from the inside? Contorting into nearly impossible shapes as toxic slime pushed through too-small veins, jagged horns split scalp, long claws pierced fingertips? What if Apo needs to go the fuck to sleep and stop creeping out followers at 5 AM?

AristocrAly is a super cool person I started a design trade with. Her keywords for me were ‘handsome male monster’. Handsomeness means a lot of things to me, apparently! Heh. I threw in the ideas I had in mind while drawing him. I feel like he’s a bit of a slob, also. Maybe a smoker. Feel free to change anything about him you like or don’t like ~ It’s possible he has an even more monstery form he can turn into. I based him a little on [my ideas] of a manticore, so that might be relevant. (warning: terrible, terrible old drawings!) Oh, and I have to give a shout out to ~senshistock, from which I reffed that pose.
